The birth of a child is one of the most wonderful events that happen in a family.
We believe that children are a special gift from God, and a Christening gives the family a time to give thanks, and to welcome the child into the family of God.
At the heart of the Christening service is the Baptism, a significant point where water will be gently poured over the child’s head with the words…
I baptise you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost
Before the Christening Rev’d Mark will need to meet with you a couple of times to go through the service, to consider the promises you will make, to discuss the role of GodParents, and to invite you to attend a couple of our services at St Stephen’s to understand what it means to join the church.
For more information about Christenings in the Church of England follow this link, and if you want to discuss your Christening service, please use the form below, and Rev’d Mark will be in contact with you to discuss your service.
